Who is she?
Greta Thunberg is a 17 year old female, who has become the center of attention for many people. Greta has drawn interest from people across the globe for her activism. Ms. Thunberg fights for climate change. Greta was born in Stockholm, Sweden and still resides there today. Greta does not hold back her tongue when speaking to Parliament or other political leaders. On a personal level, Greta has Asperger’s Syndrome. This condition is not going to hold her back. Although socializing, crowds and public places are difficult for those with Asperger’s, they are generally high functioning. She speaks her mind, and thousands of others have since joined in this movement for climate change.

What does she do?
Beginning when she was 15 years old, her motivation and goal was to get the world to see that something has to change for our climate to be better. Rather than remain in classes during school, Greta skipped school days to sit in front of the Parliament and ‘strike’. As more students began joining her, in spirit, many would stage the same protests in their communities. Greta is speaking for millions when she states that life needs to change to protect the climate for future generations.

Why watch?
Greta Thunberg is one of the youngest activists to become a leader for a cause. She is also one of the youngest activists that have plenty of critics. This 17 year old has already received six different and important awards. She was only eight years old when the climate change began to affect her. She did not understand why nothing was changing when it was so important. Thunberg is an icon, if you will, of her generation. She was the one that started the succession of world leaders paying attention to the cause. Greta is not the child of politicians, she has no family or family friends in government that help her, she is a teenager, soon to be an adult.
Thunberg will continue on this mission until she is sure the climate is changing. She will continue to speak her mind. She is one to fight for all that she finds important.
